The task of developing talent in 2014 has focused on the rollout of corporate training programs as well as the implementation of an organizational system that ensures a world-class working environment and efficiency in all Group centers worldwide. This system, shared by the entire organization, contributes to the personal and professional development of its more than 22,000 workers by sharing tools to improve abilities and management skills. For efficient application, the corporate Human Resources department (HR) has appointed a role of sole manager for a new technology platform that allows immediately updating the information on all Group companies, in addition to other features aimed at streamlining administrative procedures.

The Roca Corporate University coordinates about 30 motivational programs worldwide.

The progressive team capacity improvement and development is also one of the main objectives of the Roca Corporate University (RCU), which in 2014 provided 138,000 hours of training to more than 21,700 attendees. The main areas in which the RCU works are technical training, skills, business, information technology, administration and finance, languages and occupational risk prevention.

The RCU’s greatest value-added activities include about 30 motivational programs coordinated worldwide, with a special focus on Asia to address the specific needs of this region and its strategic role in the Group’s growth. In this regard, during 2014 we worked on the design of the first motivational programs in India and Russia, as well as the renewal of previously initiated programs in Morocco and Argentina. The aim is to provide resources to promote a good working environment and improve results. Likewise, in India we launched the “New Era” program which supports the departments of Production, Human Resources, and Methods and Processes in the implementation of corporate continuous improvement tools in all plants in the country. Finally, the MANCOM and MANMEET management team development programs started in China in 2012 and 2013 kept running in 2014.

The Group implements a common organizational system to ensure top-quality and maximum-efficiency workplaces.

In Spain and Portugal, the RCU launched a series of skills and management corporate training programs which met with great success among managers, and they are expected to be rolled out in the future to other countries. In fact, a pilot adaptation of one of these test programs already took place in 2014, specifically the negotiation module in China. A new training initiative in Spain focused on selling skills for installers to boost cross-selling and achieve a greater benefit for both the Group and distributors.
