When the Lower Silesian Economic Cooperation Agency, in Wroclaw, Poland, wanted to construct a new building to house a business incubator, they wanted it to be contemporary, sustainable and integrated into the historic neighbourhood, which is known for its lush green parks, villas and tree-lined streets.
The project was overseen by the Municipal Conservator of Monuments, ensuring the architecture would add value to the area and be a model for future architecture. The business incubator supports the activities of local companies, often within the economic sector, and therefore required a range of private offices and communal spaces, including spacious co-working spaces, conference rooms, one of which holds up to 200 people, and an audio-video recording room for podcasts and interviews. The team worked with Roca on its plans for a series of communal and private bathroom spaces across the building. The bathrooms needed to reinforce the design’s focus on energy efficiency while appealing to a dynamic and contemporary setting.
