Nestled among the lush greenery of the Puncak mountain pass in Indonesia at an altitude of 1,171 metres, the Grand Aston Puncak Hotel & Resort offers more than just luxurious accommodation; it invites guests to enjoy an immersive wellness experience, with the bathroom taking centre stage.
Designed by the award-winning architecture studio Aboday, the hotel blends harmoniously into the contours of the landscape. Only the upper floors are visible from the main road, with the hotel’s 240 rooms cascading down the slope in a stepped configuration that echoes the terrain. Inside, the design draws inspiration from nature, with warm wooden finishes and rattan textures creating a calming atmosphere and an intentional flow between the interior spaces and the surrounding environment.

A curated collection of solutions for every space

At Grand Aston Puncak, the bathroom is far more than a functional space: it’s an integral part of the guests’ restorative journey. “The bathroom is one of the places where guests can relax and enjoy their holiday,” explain the designers. “Therefore, the quality of bathroom products was a top priority for us.” With this in mind, Roca was selected to equip all guest and public bathrooms with solutions that combine comfort, elegance and reliability.

From private suites to shared areas, Roca products were carefully selected to meet the needs of a five-star resort. The suites feature freestanding Element baths, a collection designed by David Chipperfield. Powerful, compact and rational, Element stands out for its pure and distinctive geometry. The simplicity of its lines allows it to adapt with ease to diverse interior design styles.

Each bathroom is designed according to the specific layout and needs of the space, with a carefully selected mix of under- and over-countertop basins from collections such as Neo-Selene, Inspira, The Gap, Berna and Debba. Neo-Selene, for example, brings elegant minimalism through smooth lines that blend easily into contemporary settings.

Complementing these are WCs from some of Roca’s most emblematic collections, including Meridian, Nexo, Adele, and Victoria. These models combine ergonomic comfort with timeless design, while the Multiclean® Easy smart toilet seat adds advanced hygiene and user comfort.

In public spaces subject to continuous guest circulation, Mural and Bana urinals ensure efficient, hygienic use — offering durability and easy maintenance without compromising on aesthetics. These solutions, combined with PL1 dual flush plates, help reduce water consumption and contribute to the hotel’s sustainability goals. Their distinct styles allow seamless adaptation to the varying character of each public space, from the understated elegance of the lobby to more vibrant social areas.

The hotel’s commitment to comfort and design is also reflected in its choice of faucets, with models from the Escuadra, Targa, Atlas, Vela and Victoria collections installed in various areas. Signature solutions, including Sensum Square shower kit, Raindream Square and Rainsense Round showerheads add a layer of personal wellbeing and elevate the guest experience with intuitive design and advanced hygiene.

End-to-end support from Roca

The collaboration with Roca extended beyond products to the successful execution of the project. “We received significant support from the training and transfer of product knowledge provided by Roca’s team at the project’s onset,” the developers note. “Roca also remained involved, monitoring progress and assisting with any issues that arose until the project was completed.” This comprehensive support ensured that every detail – from product selection to installation – met the high standards of both the design team and the hotel operator.

The result is a collection of bathroom spaces that transcend functionality, inviting guests to pause, unwind and connect with their surroundings. At Grand Aston Puncak, the bathroom is an integral part of the guest experience, reflecting Roca’s core values of innovation, sustainability and design excellence.
