Roca, Main Partner of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects Barcelona

Roca, the global leading brand specialized in bathroom space solutions, will be the Main Partner of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects Barcelona, one of the most important international events dedicated to architecture, urbanism, and design.

The congress, organized by the International Union of Architects (UIA) together with various Spanish and Catalan institutions, will bring together more than 10,000 professionals, architects, academics, and students from over 130 countries, turning Barcelona into a global meeting point to reflect on the future of architecture and the built environment.

The 2026 edition will take place from June 28 to July 2 under the theme “Becoming. Architectures for a planet in transition,” inviting reflection on the ecological, social, and technological transformations that are redefining the built environment.
 

Through its participation as Main Partner, Roca reinforces its longstanding commitment to shaping the built environment, actively contributing to spaces for debate and knowledge that will define the cities of the future.

Within the framework of the congress, Roca will present its Industry 4.0 pods, prefabricated bathroom modules. These modules are fully manufactured in the factory, including structure, installations, equipment, and finishes, and are transported to the construction site ready for installation. They will demonstrate how digital transformation, automation, and new industrial processes are redefining the way solutions for contemporary living are produced and integrated.

Applied to the bathroom, industrialized construction allows a large part of the process to be moved off-site, reducing the involvement of multiple trades and improving coordination in one of the most complex areas of a building.

In this context, Roca’s prefabricated bathroom solutions provide greater control over timelines, quality, and execution in large-scale residential, hospitality, and healthcare projects, while contributing to more efficient, sustainable construction models aligned with circularity principles.

The UIA 2026 Congress will take place across various emblematic venues in Barcelona and is part of the World Capital of Architecture 2026 initiative, which will position the city as an international hub for architectural and urban thought throughout the year.

Over five days, the congress will bring together more than 200 international speakers, including architects, researchers, and professionals from related disciplines, who will discuss the main challenges facing cities and territories in a context of ecological, technological, and social transition.
