The Government of Catalonia approves the urban planning for Roca City in Gavà and Viladecans

The Government of Catalonia has definitively approved the urban planning for Roca City, the project jointly promoted by the municipalities of Gavà and Viladecans and Roca Group to transform the surroundings of the historic factory into a new mixed-use eco-district.

The development will combine economic activity, housing, public facilities and extensive green areas across a 32-hectare site. The project includes the construction of 2,730 homes, 1,260 of which will be affordable housing, as well as a central park spanning more than 7 hectares that will restore the watercourse as the backbone of the new neighbourhood.

Roca City will enable the regeneration of a former industrial area while preserving Roca’s historical heritage and reinforcing the company’s commitment to the economic, social and sustainable development of Gavà and Viladecans.

In addition, Roca City will host the future global corporate headquarters of Roca Group, conceived as a new business and innovation hub aimed at driving the sustainable transformation of the area and consolidating the district as a benchmark for economic activity, talent and innovation in the Barcelona metropolitan area.
