A tribute to Barcelona’s iconic architecture and the essence of Mediterranean living, ‘Mediterranean Perspectives’ showcases Roca’s innovative collections and cutting-edge innovations. Nestled within the bustling Salone del Mobile, the stand designed by Barcelona-based architecture firm Mesura, is anchored in geometric principles that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes.
On the outside, the intricate geometric pattern evokes the architecture of the Mediterranean and sets the stage for an immersive journey within. On the inside, the geometric motif creates multifaceted capsules that seamlessly integrate Roca’s various collections and products. Each capsule has a unique atmosphere and showcases a specific collection, complemented by nuanced lighting. A textile mesh ceiling ties the space together, while allowing each collection to shine in its own right.
About the Stand
'Mediterranean Perspectives' not only showcases Roca's collections but also embodies the brand's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Its unique simplicity and thoughtful internal geometry harmoniously complement the products on display, creating a cohesive and inviting environment where sustainability shines through in every aspect of the design.
With a focus on minimising the environmental impact without compromising design excellence, the choice of materials for this temporary structure was crucial to the design process. To reduce the environmental footprint materials from previous events were reused and will be used for future applications. This conscious approach to material selection highlights the potential for sustainability in ephemeral design.
Roca's Collections
At the heart of the pavilion is the award-winning Nu faucet collection by Studio Inma Bermudez, with its vibrant, playful and sustainable design. Prominently positioned, it promises to capture the attention of visitors. Available in six bright colours inspired by the Mediterranean palette, Nu features three models with different handles and is infused with unique details.
Adjacent to Nu, the revamped Targa faucet collection stands out with its commanding silhouette and strong architectural lines. This timeless collection is available in a range of sophisticated finishes and three different heights.
Inspired by the picturesque Costa Brava landscape, the Tura collection, designed by Andreu Carulla, is set within a tranquil oasis with a sculptural roof, ceramic tiles and earthy textures. An interplay of light and shadow reflect this complete bathroom collection's deep-rooted connection to Barcelona’s 20th-century architecture. It includes washbasins, bathtubs, toilets, bidets, bathroom furniture, and lighting and storage accessories.
Revolutionising the way we think about bathroom design and functionality, Avant is an avant-garde, space-saving toilet with an integrated cistern. Designed in collaboration with SIAMP, it features a patented flushing system based on the Venturi effect, which ensures a powerful and hygienic flush every time, as well as the Roca Rimless® Vortex system and Supraglaze® glazing for unrivalled cleanliness.
The In-Wash® range of smart toilets can be found at the opposite end of the stand, showcased as curated industrial pieces, underscoring Roca’s leadership in integrating innovative technologies into bathroom solutions. The range features a variety of options to suit different preferences and budgets, from In-Wash® Insignia, the ultimate smart toilet that sets the standard for bathroom comfort and digitalisation, to In-Wash® Inspira and In-Wash® Ona offering fully configurable and intuitive functionality integrated into a universal design, and the Multiclean® M-Series, transforming a regular toilet to bring a new experience of comfort and hygiene to more homes.
Stepping into a tranquil space that captures the serene beauty of the Mediterranean landscapes, visitors can rediscover Ona with its crisp aesthetics that follow the inherent warmth of the natural environment. The washbasins, toilets and bidets of this highly versatile bathroom collection are now available in a stylish matt black finish.
Mesura
Mesura is a model for creativity, achieving durable and creative solutions by venturing into the unknown and by reimagining the practice of architecture and design. The studio was founded in 2010 by five partners after being awarded the prestigious European Urban Planning Award. For the past fourteen years, Mesura has learned to untangle the complexities of each challenge to reveal the essence of the concept.
Mesura explores a wide range of mediums, including spatial projects, objects, resources, and editorial work. Each medium presents a unique opportunity to bring new ideas to life. Whether designing a space, crafting an object, curating resources, or producing thought-provoking content, Mesura approaches each project with dedication and a commitment to excellence.
Mesura’s working process is based on a transdisciplinary methodology that seeks to find connections between the various fields they operate in. Each project serves as a testing site where the process is as valued as the final outcome. Mesura believes that true innovation occurs when different perspectives and ideas intersect.
