Roca receives the “Xaver 2011” award
‘The Wave’, the space presented by Roca at the last 100% Design London exhibition, has been honoured with the award granted by the Expo+Event Swiss Association.
Roca has received another award for its ‘The Wave’ space, created for the last 100% Design London international exhibition, which took place in September 2010. On this occasion, ‘The Wave’ has received the ‘Xaver 2011’ award in the Best Expo Project category. The award was handed over at a ceremony in Zurich on 19 April.
This prestigious award, granted by the Expo+Event Swiss Association, with a jury headed by Hans-Jürg Rufener, Creative Director of the SMI Group, is in recognition of the quality, creativity and innovation of the Roca space, designed by Germany’s White Void studio. The innovative space is characterised by a unique design and features an innovative kinetic installation of 15 linear metres of moving light, made up of 40 blue ceiling-hung lights. Thanks to internal motors, these moved on a synchronised basis as soon as they registered a movement at their base, simulating the movement of a wave and creating a unique atmosphere.
The ‘Xaver’ awards consist of six prestigious honours for different categories, and are awarded by the Expo+Event Swiss Association. They boast an elite jury, which includes the presence of Hans-Jürg Rufener, Creative Director of the SMI Group. The award confirms Roca’s position as an innovative brand, the global leader in design and cutting-edge progress.
