Joan Gaspar

Studied Industrial Design at the Barcelona Arts and Crafts School.

In 1988, he began working for minimalist lamp maker VAPOR S.A. From 1992, he began working in partnership with a number of companies in the creation of new product lines.

1996 saw him embarking on a close collaboration with lighting company Marset Iluminación, where he was responsible for new product development and took on the post of Product Director, a position he still holds today.

His work has been selected on a number of occasions for the FAD Awards. In 2001, he was awarded its Silver Delta for the Atlas series of lamps made by Marset Iluminación, and received another in 2004 for the Neón de Luz luminaire, again produced by Marset Iluminación.

He has taught industrial design-related materials and technology classes at the Elisava design school and given project classes at the Eina design and art school.

In 2002, he opened an industrial design studio, working with a number of companies in the creation of new products. His work has been featured in numerous trade magazines, both in Spain and abroad.
